Biographical Sketch for John Paul Jones

John Paul Jones was born December 15, 1971 in Mesa, Arizona. Raised in a Christian home, he was led to the Lord at the age of seventeen by his father, Reverend Ronald J. Jones. John faithfully attended his father’s church until he graduated from Ozark High School in Missouri in 1990. In 1993, John married Richelle Boone. They have three children: Cameron Luke Jones, (1997), Riley Daniel Jones (1998), and Nathan Alexander Jones (2001). The family currently lives in El Dorado, KS, where they attend Temple Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Ron K. Jones.

Johns’ educational and work background began immediately after high school graduation with three semesters at Drury College in Springfield, Missouri in 1993. After serving in the U.S. Navy and receiving medical training for two years, John reenrolled at Baptist Bible College. While attending Bible College, John worked with the youth at Cape Fair Baptist Church in Cape Fair, Missouri. In 1998, John accepted a management position with Clark’s of England. After traveling with Clark’s for two years, the family settled in Rock Hill, South Carolina in 2000. John and his family attended Southside Baptist Church in Rock Hill, where he taught the College and Career and worked with the Deaf ministries. In 2002, the Lord called John to Bend, Oregon where he served for two years as an Associate Pastor, working with their deaf ministry, interpreting and preaching the Word of God. The family then moved to Charleston, South Carolina, so that John could continue to work on his degree at Charleston Southern University while also working as an emergency room technician. John later transferred to Andersonville Theological Seminary and received his Bachelor of Arts in Bible in 2006. They ministered at Northside Baptist Church through the music, visitation, Awanas, and as teacher of the Young Couple’s Class, while living in Charleston. He is currently working on his Master’s degree in theology and now serving at Temple Baptist Church in El Dorado, KS.

Even though John received Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of seventeen, it took several years for him to realize the full call of God upon his life and experienced periods away from the Lord. In October of 1992, John surrendered to the call to preach. John later began to realize that God wanted him on the mission field, and in September of 2005, John answered the call of God to Ireland. John and Richelle are now preparing to follow God’s call to the country of Ireland. John feels that God can greatly use his varied background, including his medical training and training in sign language, to minister to the people of Ireland.
